PRIME: RESPIRATOR FIT TEST
OSHA requires employees to wear a respirator as a standard safety practice for multiple jobs in the marketplace to provide protection against inhaling toxins of fine dust particles.
Respirator Fit Tests help determine if an employee is able to safely wear a respirator on the job.
Respirator fit tests are required by OSHA for all tight-fitting respirators, including both supplied-air respirators and air-purifying respirators. OSHA requires fit testing before first use, if there are changes to use and annual evaluations.
On average, PRIME administers over 75,000 respirator fit tests in clinic and 10,000 with their mobile fleet annually.
