Course Information: The Emergency Medical Responder course is a Louisiana Bureau of EMS state-approved course that took the place of the First Responder course. This course covers all components of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Emergency Medical Responder course. Course content can be viewed on their website NREMT.ORG. 5 student minimum per class.

Course Duration: 40 hours completed over four ten-hour days

Course Dates: March 27, March 30 – 31, and April 1

Time: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Certifications Received: Upon successful completion students will be certified as an Emergency Medical Responder

Accreditation: This is an accredited course by the Louisiana Bureau of EMS

Recertification Interval: Recertification is a 2-year cycle

Prerequisites: No prerequisites

Course Format: This course is an instructor-led course with a PowerPoint presentation lecture. In addition, there are practical skills that the students will complete to verify the competency of skills.
