PRIME is an industry leader when it comes to the development,  management and support of random drug testing programs.  PRIME listens to customer needs as a step toward developing customized testing and screening solutions.  Our technical support tools and trained, experienced staff will maximize program efficiency and reduce administrative effort.

Perhaps the greatest deterrent of drug use in the workplace is the random drug screen due largely to the unexpected and unscheduled nature of the random drug screen. PRIME can assist in crafting a random selection process that would allow the employer to select one or more individuals from all employees in a specific workplace or organization. By using a random selection process, bias is eliminated and all employees have an equal chance of being selected, even those who have been drug tested recently. Random drug testing can be more effective at detecting and deterring drug use than pre-employment testing because employees do not know when they may be selected for testing. The mission of our Drug Screening Program is to provide your company with random drug screen collections performed at your company’s workplace utilizing PRIME’s medical staff and/or mobile testing units.

Substances in Common Drug Panels:

In some cases, the influence of corporate culture can come into play with regard to what drugs are screened in a drug test.  As marijuana legislation and certain cultures change, employers may decide to customize their panel accordingly.
A 5-panel drug screen is often administered by companies or individuals who are concerned an employee might be abusing prescription drugs, as well as in industries where alertness is required or heavy machinery is operated.
A 10-panel drug screen is often administered to test employees of law enforcement and occupational medicine, as well as to examine if a person on legal probation is violating the terms of that probation. Furthermore, many civil servants are required to pass a 10-panel drug screen, particularly if their job entails dangerous work or work where the employee is responsible for the safety of others.  This test typically looks for cocaine, marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, & Quaaludes.
A 12-panel drug screen is often administered as an extension to the 10-panel test and looks for either the presence of extended opiates and prescription painkillers, or can look for traces of other controlled substances if that is dangerous to the workplace.  This test typically looks for cocaine, marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, Quaaludes, Ecstasy/MDA, & Oxycodone/Percoset.

*Customized panels made easy: As new drugs are introduced to society, custom panels may be created by adding substances to existing panels or specifically according to your company’s current policy. If you have the desire to update your company’s screening program, simply contact us for a custom panel request.
