Damon graduated in 2003 from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  During his professional studies at LSU, he served as a Combat Field Medic in the LA. National Guard, 1st Battalion 156th Armor Regiment.  From 1992-2000, he honorably served on active duty in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and Surgical Technologist. Damon specialized as an orthopedic surgical PA for 5 years prior to entering  the field of occupational medicine in 2008. He joined the Prime Occupational Medicine Team in 2011.

He is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Prescription Monitoring Program. He is also a nationally certified medical examiner for the  Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
